Stonehenge is not only a very important, worldwide famous, prehistoric monument. It is all the landscape around it that is the monument. That landscape is also full of traces of human past activity. All this area belongs not only to England, but morally to all humanity: it is our precious heritage. As an archaeologist and as a citizen I ask those who take decisions to preserve this mankind unique value. Save Stonehenge as an entire landscape and as a symbol of our contemporary culture and civilization as a one that does not destroy the unique values of our planet, but, to the contrary, consider them as something that is beyond us, beyond our immediate material interests, something that represent something that actually no money can buy: our history, our memory, our respect for those who preceded us on this land.
