As a graduate in archaeology, former field archaeologist and as a UK resident who enjoys visiting the prehistoric sites of England, I am deeply concerned about the proposed scheme. The damage that will be caused to the archaeology is irreversible. Context is everything for this unique site of global importance which is clearly not understood with this scheme. We have a duty to protect this heritage for the future, not mess about with tunnels and road schemes that are short sighted in their focus. Stonehenge is part of our treasure, to be proud of and to care for to the best of our ability. Do better.
