There are many reasons why this is the wrong thing to do both morally and factually. Examples of the latter are listed below:

The damage to the site will be totally unacceptable (paraphrasing UNESCO here).

There has been a total lack of alternative options as part of the consultation. There must be other options available that would not damage the World Heritage Site.

There would be a loss of the view from the road and need to pay to see the Stones in future. This is a National Treasure and not everyone can afford to visit and pay to enter the site.

Rare bird species will be impacted upon.

Even UNESCO’s advisers say the scheme should not go ahead as it is currently laid out.
