I am concerned about the threat of irreparable damage to one of the planet's best known and unique World Heritage Sites, not only its archaeology, but also its setting. Stonehenge has been described by UNESCO as a "landscape without parallel". In addition, UNESCO’s international advisers have said that the scheme should not go ahead in its present form, in part, because or concerns about damage to the Mesolithic site and its setting. I am also concerned about the failure to provide alternative options in consultation that would not damage this world-famous World Heritage Site. You should also consider the loss of the view from the road and the need to pay to see the Stones in future. Other considerations include the disturbance of rare bird species (Stone Curlew and Great Bustard), and increased noise from faster traffic.
