As someone who is highly concerned with historic preservation and plans to re-visit the Salisbury Plain, I find that the narrow perspective of protecting the Henge by tunneling under it while damaging the hundreds of other neolithic sites around it very upsetting. I understand that common traffic has passed close to the one site for as long as history can record travel and that passage is a necessity but, in a time where new technology is exposing an even older and more far reaching footprint of archaeology, crashing through miles of underground and unexplored territory is not acceptable.
