It is my opinion that any further traffic alterations to the surface traffic around the relic that is known as Stonehenge, will only result in more movement of the earth surface covering the area around the relic itself. This is unacceptable and unnecessary. If there are to be alterations to traffic routes around Stonehenge, then they must be made to be taken underground. Stonehenge has stood in its place for many years and to risk the chance of any movement of it through surface earthworks is a definite non starter. The cost of taking any future work underground is going to be exorbitant, but how can we worry about that, when the alternative is the possible ruination of such an iconic structure as Stonehenge.
