I have been visiting the Stonehenge site since I was a child, indeed was one of the last generations to be able to interact freely with the stones. I wrote a project on Stonehenge as a child. What I know is that in the last 20 years the whole Stonehenge site is immeasurably larger than we realised, and there may well be future discoveries waiting. While the proposed short tunnel scheme does not necessarily impact of the circle itself, it certainly affects sites such as Blick Mead, which I understand will be affected by the changing water table and has already been interfered with by exploratory boring. Please either suspend this plan or make the tunnel longer. The site is unique. We out it to ourselves and to the world.
