As an archaeologist and previous History teacher of forty years, I condemn these planning processes as they conflict with our national heritage values in many ways. The historical environment must be protected and valued. Unesco's comments for further advice and the possible scrapping of this planning should be adhered to. After our own local Mesolithic site Star Carr near Scarborough and the damage to Blick Mead Mesolithic site both awarded public acclaim, surely this planning needs further consideration. The site needs protection for future generations.
