I understand the need to improve traffic flow along the single carriageway section of the A303. But a tunnel is unnecessary. It will be disproportionately expensive and it is likely to disturb and destroy significant amounts of prehistoric remains. Also it will take away the inspiring first view of the stones. The only way to see it or photograph it then will be park in the car park at the NT/EH visitor centre and pay.
