There will be irreparable damage to the WHS, its archaeology and setting, described by UNESCO as a ‘landscape without parallel’. There should be some changes to the layout before plans go ahead, one of the main focus points should be about damage to Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its setting. Another major focus should be on the disturbances to rare bird species (Stone Curlew and Great Bustard). There is a lack of alternative options in consultation that would not damage the World Heritage Site. With the current proposed layout there is the loss of the view from the road and need to pay to see the Stones in future. There will also be a lot of increased noise from faster traffic.
