I am very concerned that the proposed widening of the a303 will do irreparable damage to the world heritage site of Stonehenge. This prehistoric monument and its surrounding environs which still include many archaeological treasures must be preserved. Future generations will be appalled at the inconsiderate and wanton destruction of our environment to accommodate transport needs. An alternative must be found which could include a deeply bored tunnel 4.5km long.
