This proposal should not go ahead. This is a sacred landscape unique to our country and should not have the impact and damage to it and it’s archaeology of the proposed plans to this heritage site. Also to take into account is the increased noise from traffic and it’s impact upon rare bird species of the stone curlew and great bustard. Damage to Blick Mead must also be considered influential in this decision also. This site was left to the nation and is a travesty that it is to pay for to enter, with this plan it will not even be visible from the road, only to those able to pay the eye watering cost to visit, only to not be allowed to wander at will around the site. UNESCO do not agree with the plans and this should not go ahead simply because Highways England desire it and have the finances to push it through. The people’s voice must be listened to and this proposal must be turned down for the sake of this unique monument and its landscape as we will never undo the damage if this proposal is successful.
