The proposed development does not represent value for money for the public purse, the local topography could easily hide the road from Stonehenge without the need to tunnel and expend vast amounts of money needlessly. More of the a303 could be then upgraded making communication easier and swifter, the project would also be finished more quickly.
Please do not approve a project that is fraught with risk, excess expense to please basically English Heritage and the National Trust and the likelihood of the project not running to budget.
A simple assessment of a good quality map and looking at the land around the site shows how easily the road could be integrated into the landscape and still miss archaeological sites.
