I am deeply concerned that despite many objections from parties as diverse as Archeologists, Naturalists, Druids and even UNESCO, this plan is apparently being bulldozed through.
It is remarkable - almost unbelievable - that alternative plans that show better respect for the environment, the iconic view of Stonehenge and it's irreplaceable archeology have not been proposed. I don't think it is exaggerating to describe the current plan as vandalism.
Please reconsider. I agree that a few miles of the A303 are often congested and that it is right to consider a plan to help the traffic flow a little better. But the current plan will grievously affect a Wold Heritage site - one of the most important in the world - forever.
Yes. Forever.
Please consider that for a moment.
In view of the importance of Stonehenge and its surroundings, I urge you to find a less damaging way of easing congestion on these few miles of the A303.
