• There is no coming back from this proposal once it goes ahead. The damage to this, arguably a beating heart of this land and its attendant culture(s) over many thousands of years, cannot be undone. The site, it's visible profile, is loved by many and instantly recognisable. To consign that to the past, to fading memory, to archived image, is an act of wanton cultural vandalism. • UNESCO has advised against this and I see no evidence that their concerns have been addressed, nor have I seen any alternative plans that seek to address those concerns. • Additionally, there are concerns about damage to Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its setting. • Loss of view from the road would deprive visitors of sight of the stones and would meand that paid visits would be the only way to see this national monument. • Disturbance of rare species, including, but not limited to the Stone Curlew and Great Bustard. • I am concerned over increased noise from more and faster traffic. If anything we should be looking for a scheme that REDUCES traffic nd noise.
