The new expressway could cause extreme damage to an amazing World Heritage Site. UNESCO’s international advisers say the scheme should not go ahead. There are also a lack of alternative options in consultation that would not damage the World Heritage Site
With the looming climate crisis we need to be conserving and cherishing any natural ecosystems and their inhabitants (like the rare bird species around Stonehenge), not investing in high carbon infrastructure like an expressway.
