1 - there is no clear evidence road congestion will be improved

2 - there is too much focus on 'bronze age henge' and not enough planning for mitigation of impacts on multiperiod landscape and archaeology.

3 - specifically; there is very poor planning for the Mesolithic and potential Palaeolithic evidence that might be encountered/destroyed; evidence from these periods extends our understanding of Salisbury plain area back to 1000's of years before the first henge.

The evidence might include soils and geomorphology, variably distributed lithic artefacts, and exceptionally important sites such as Blick Meads. Thus far, there is no indication that these issues/periods/material evidences are being seriously planne3d for in any mitigation of ground disturbance caused by the proposal.

This area is far too important nationally and internationally to treated to the typical commercial (lacklustre) mitigation that usually accompanies schemes of this kind. It is also of wide interest, and any specific archaeological mitigation Briefs, Site works, and the Results should be absolutely Open, Timely and Transparent for all to see. There is no evidence that this will happen, therefore I object strongly to this scheme.
