Permanent damage to the World Heritage Site, its archaeology and setting.
UNESCO's advisers say the scheme should not go ahead in its present form.
Concerns about damage to Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its setting.
Lack of alternative options that would not damage the World Heritage Site in the
consultation.
Loss of view from the road and need to pay to see the Stones. (A document exists
written and signed by the benefactor who bequeathed the site to the nation stating
clearly that fees to see Stonehenge should never be more than one shilling.)
Disturbance of rare bird species (Stone Curlew and Great Bustard).
Increased noise from more and faster traffic.
General recognition that this is sacred land, and that this applies not just to the
surface of the land but beneath the surface as well.
