Dear Sir or Madame,

[Redacted]I absolutely object to this road scheme to drive the equivalent of a dual carriageway right underneath Stonehenge, a World Heritage Site, a designation which will be lost if this is approved. Our reasons are:

The length of the tunnel is far too short to ensure its survival into perpetuity, it will be shaken to destruction due entirely to the volume of traffic which will be expected to use it. This is a 5000+ year old construction and the utmost care and protection should be provided to ensure its survival into the future. So many communities of faith and none have visited this site especially for its religious history and celebrations of the Summer and Winter Solstices. It also generates millions in revenue for the local economy and if this scheme goes ahead that revenue will also go.

There are no economic benefits and it is completely beyond our normal human understanding as to why it was even considered. It is so wilfully and environmentally irresponsible and destructive of such a beautiful and historic site, that those who are entrusted with its care and protection into perpetuity put in serious doubt the authorities ability to look after it. Nor can we understand the deliberate push to destroy Stonehenge at all. It is so well known that to destroy it would never be forgiven.

Yours sincerely but very worriedly, [Redacted]
