We are losing the essence of English countryside , through the loss of trees, protected spaces. Incorporating a faster road will bring more traffic to the south west that does not have infra structure to cope, ie, single track roads, windy lanes, etc. More cars means more accidents, pollution, devastating bird, insect, small mammal populations. It will ruin the feelings of awe that Stonehenge inspires when you get that first glimpse. It will encourage more use of fossil fuels, peoples apathy to our changing climate. We need reminders like Stonehenge, of what life was like, what was achieved by early man, the surrounding setting being part of that experience.
