The current plan does not adequately protect, and indeed will irreparably damage, this ancient landscape. There must be alternatives that will conserve it whilst improving transport links. However, it seems these have not been fully explored. As a hugely important heritage site, different options must surely be formulated and considered.

The plan as put forward also does not adequately protect wildlife, specifically some bird species.

The current plan will also mean the view of the stones will be lost to the public unless they pay for it.
