I cannot believe that such a significant Historic site, not only in Britain but to the whole world, is subject to yet another missguided and shortsighted attempt to address road congestion. Have Highways England never read or inwardly digested well known International research which shows more roads just encourage more cars? Or more likely, they are well aware if this and wilfully ignore it choising instead to adopt a piecemeal approach which destroys the very fabric of our richly historic and beautiful land? Perhaps Highways England and local authirity planning authorities will only wake up to the impact of their decisions when the whole of England is covered in concrete, cars and houses? The ancient Druids who oversaw the erection of the stone henges would be horrified at the blatant disregard of the earth and space people and nature need to grow and flourish. Shame on you Highways England
