The western tunnel entrance is too close to the tumuli and the eastern entrance too close to Blickmead. Frequently the true extent of an archaeological site is underestimated and only discovered years later when it has been damaged by development. Blickmead is a site of unique archaeological and heritage interest. It and it surroundings should be protected at all costs. Additionally light pollution levels at the west end and threats to the water table at the east end are unacceptable. The only acceptable tunnel would have both entrances well away from the World Heritage Site.
