I am above all concerned about the potential damage constructing the Stonehenge Tunnel to Neolithic sites not fully excavated yet. Such sites are comparatively rare, and so it would be an act of reckless historical vandalism to risk their destruction.
I am further concerned that this proposal will mean Stonehenge is no longer visible from the road. An unparalleled British historical site, Stonehenge belongs to all of us, not just those who can afford to pay. Segregating who gets to see our heritage - at least from a distance - by class is regressive.
