Stonehenge is an ancient site and loss of this from public view from the existing road excludes all those who do not have the resources to pay to see it. The road itself is a part of the existing landscape and important in its own right. The view from the road is in itself a part of national heritage.

The proposed disturbance to the known and unknown archaeological features in this ancient and significant (some might say sacred) landscape through activities associated with transport development is unnecessary and not supported by experts. Disturbance and damage to culturally irreplaceable artefacts may not be intentional but must be avoided through routing elsewhere.
