Summary of Representation:

The proposals seek to create a new restricted byway to connect byway SLAN3 to byway BSJA3A. The proposed route of this link runs adjacent and to the southern side of the A303.

J M Stratton & Co is strongly opposed to this proposal on the basis that is unnecessary and far exceeds the scope and justifications for the A303 project. Proposals to add to and widen the existing network of public rights of way in the area should (unless directly affected by proposed engineering works) be heard and evaluated on their merits through normal rights of way protocols and not attached to central governmental infrastructure schemes.

We are especially opposed to the status of the proposed route being Restricted Byway along the above described route. Restricted Byways are impossible to police and therefore encourage unlawful use by motorised vehicles including motorbikes.
