Digging a tunnel has a serious risk of damaging evidence that remains underground. Future techniques and technologies may allow us to better understand the whole Stonehenge landscape, and to damage it further would be a disaster. Similarly widening the road to create a dual carriageway will be damaging. The whole area and landscape is of international importance and should be left alone.
