I am concerned that unexcavated archaeology within the landscape surrounding Stonehenge may be permanently destroyed theeby removing the best chance that we and future generations have to understood the ancient history of this the Stonehenge monument as fully as possible. The Mesolithic history of the post holes in the Dtonehenge car park are intriguing and very little to date is known about the culture who created them and their alignments, despite the fact that this type of knowledge appeared to be important for thousands of years subsequently. The surrounding landscape may hold vital clues to our future comprehension of this enigmatic should therefore be preserved as a priority. Recent excavations at Blick Mead have highlighted the significance of these concerns. It is imperative that as current custodians of the Stonehenge landscape that we take utmost care in fulfilling our duties of responsible guardianship and recognise the essential comparatively temporary concerns of traffic management in a world beset with global warming and too many cars. Whenever I have had to drive past Stonehenge I have always felt so lucky to be blessed with even a fleeting glimpse of this amazing monument and the mysteries that it represents.
