To whom it may concern,

I am concerned about the A303 tunnel construction plans at Stonehenge for the following reasons:

  • UNESCO has not approved of the tunnel plan in its current form

  • 10 hectares of the World Heritage Site would be irreversibly damaged and the ancient sites from that area lost and destroyed

  • The entire landscape around Stonehenge is a unique area containing various ancient sites both older and younger than Stonehenge, some of which have not yet been excavated, and damaging it should not be risked in any way

  • The newly discovered Blick Mead site could be irreparably damaged

  • Disruption of the area's wildlife and ecological systems

  • Noise pollution

  • There is no research evidence that shows that such a road scheme will provide any gains, particularly not for the World Heritage Site - the danger and risk to it far outweigh any theoretical benefit

Thank you,
