Stonehenge is a world heritage site and UNESCO international advisors have advised that the scheme should not go ahead in its present form. The scheme will do irreparable damage to the Stonehenge site, archaeology integrity will be lost and the wider landscape and setting which is a crucial part of the site will be damaged. There will also be ecological effects on rare bird species currently found in this location. The consultation has failed to fully consider or articulate alternative options that will better mitigate the potential damage. This is a historic site which belongs to the future as well as now and should be passed on to future generations in as good a state as it is now
