I'm opposing the proposed new Thames Crossing. I don't believe it will solve the current problems suffered due to the Dartford Crossing, and will have various negative impacts: There's no provision for active travel across the river. It does nothing to move travel to public transport, which is what is needed. The new crossing will only induce new demand. There will be a huge increase in carbon emissions. It will cost too much. There will be an unacceptable impact on local communities during the build and operation. It will destroy and impact woodland (including ancient woodland), trees (including ancient trees), hedgerows, and much needed green belt. There will be a devastating impact on wildlife and habitat, including protected species. There will be an increase in air and noise pollution. Overall, I don't believe it meets the scheme objectives.
