I object to the proposed lower thames crossing for the following reasons : I have lived in the gravesham area for 58 years and the destruction of land during the build will Destroy and impact woodland, ancient woodland, hedgerows, greenbelt and farmland causing reduction in food production and Devastating impact on wildlife and habitat, including protected species. Traffic volume and the knock on effects of noise and air pollution in our village is already a problem and the a227 from Wrotham to gravesend will be used as a “rat run” through villages as directed by satnav to reach the lower Thames crossing. The villages of shorne, Meopham, sole street and cobham will suffer appalling problems as the infrastructure is not fit for purpose for large lorries and increased traffic volumes to travel through these villages, this will have a huge impact on homes, communities and the wellbeing of residents. Concerns about construction impacts on all aspects of the area I don’t believe this optio Would solve the problems suffered due to the Dartford Crossing Induced demand - increase in cross river traffic (around 50%) Lack of adequate connections, especially when there are incidents Safety concerns since the proposed LTC would be a 'Smart' Motorway by stealth Increase in carbon emissions (around 6.6 million tonnes) Waste of over £10bn+, not value for money, false economy as other spending would be needed as direct result
