I am concerned about the following: * It doesn't solve the problems it is intended to solve * it induces extra traffic, making things worse in the medium to long term * Lack of provisions for active transport options * The combined effect of all the above is that it increases carbon emissions, when we are already behind on our national targets and without a plan to bridge that gap. This just makes it even harder to bridge the gap. There's also the environmental destruction, and loss of farmland. We're experiencing food shortages as I write this and multiple organisations have said this week that another year with weather like 2022 would be devastating for crops grown in the UK. I live in the East of England where a lot of the counties food is grown. There's also the ecological impact. This is one of the most nature depleted countries in the world. How can we show leadership on the world stage, talk about protecting the Amazon and similar places elsewhere in the world while making things even worse at home. It's hypocritical. Carbon reduction and restoration of nature should be our number one goals, and this project fails the test on both fronts
