I am against the LTC project regarding the route on the north side of the Thames which affects me personally. 1. On environmental grounds, it will have a detrimental affect on a long swathe of relatively unspoiled areas of Thurrock, scenically and from noise pollution, from West Tilbury marshes to Orsett Fen, passing close to and through areas of wildlife and scenic interest. 2. The original purpose of the LTC was to alleviate congestion at the Dartford Crossing. It now appears that the project is being justified on economic grounds (e.g. for businesses) and used to promote further industrial development in the area such as the Port of Tilbury 'Thames Freeport' which is acquiring extra land at West Tilbury Marshes not directly relevant to the building of the new crossing. I question how significant an affect the project will have in reducing congestion at the Dartford Crossing. 3. The new road system and junctions along the A13/A1089 seem over complicated, forcing traffic to use the Orsett Cock roundabout in order to head westwards onto the A13 from the new crossing.
