This project is a waste of upwards of ten billion pounds of public money. It will increase the traffic that travels across the Thames, increasing carbon emissions and the emission of particulates from tyres. The construction of the project will create a vast amount of carbon emissions. The project will also cause the loss of a significant amount of agricultural land, at a time when difficulties with changing weather patterns mean that it is getting harder to import fruit and vegetables from Europe.
