I am very supportive of the overall project and development plans, in particular those directly affecting the village of Rivenhall End and Oak Road. The decision to divide the village in half with the current A12 in the 1950/60's should dramatically improve a poor historical decision. The plan to close Oak Road on the north side of the A12 is widely well received due to the very heavy traffic which the road cannot physically support bringing much improved air, living quality and most important road safety for one of the worst accident spots in the county. Given the discreet/isolated way this part of the by-pass development could progress it is hoped that this would progress at the earliest opportunity. The works could proceed without affecting the main A12 traffic flows with a view that the by-pass adoption brings very early benefits to the entire project and current problems in traffic flows around and north of Witham. Concerns around local disruption, heavy and multiple traffic movements need to be accepted for the future improvements and future proofing of the A12 traffic management.
