Increased traffic along Main Road Boreham due to the closure of junctions 20a. Hatfield Peverel residents will not go back to junction 21 to the backtrack along the A12 to Chelmsford/London they will go via Boreham and join at junction 19. This increased traffic then will make it difficult for residents to safely cross Main Road out of their respective roadswithout pulling out and blocking incoming traffic then hoping the other lane of traffic will stop to let them out. In turn any emergency services for the residents will find it more difficult to get through which could be fatal for someone. Main Road has to be made unattractive in comparison to using the A12 to eliminate this - regular chicanes where traffic has to give way to oncoming traffic. I feel that the widening stance to help if there is an accident on the A12 is only dependant on where the actual accident is and in which direction the traffic is flowing because the Chelmsford stretch is only 2 lanes wide and if it happens there you still have the same problem traffic will divert through Boreham. If an accident in the 3 lane stretch it is again going to depend on which lane as to whether it helps or not.
