I live [Redacted], Boreham. Already I take my life in my hands every time I turn off my drive onto Main Road. Traffic is thundering down at 60 miles an hour. I am very concerned that this situation will be made worse if the proposal to close junctions 20A and 20B are closed. The new junction is proposed to be further up than the existing ones and traffic, including heavy goods vehicles will come off roads such as Maldon road and find it more time efficient to speed down Main Road to join the southbound A12. Having spoken to HighwAys reps at consultation meetings I do not agree that just adding speed cameras or other traffic calming measures will lessen the traffic. I would welcome the speed limit being reduced to 40 miles per hour especially in my section by the Thatched Cottage but I strongly believe that the present junctions should remain in place and I ask that my concerns are considered before I final decision is made.
