I am very concerned regarding the closure of junctions 20a and 20b and the position of the new A12 junction. With the new layout Boreham will have more traffic passing through, estimated, 34% on Main road and 25% on Plantation Rd. The objective of the A12 is to take traffic away from local roads not increase it. The thinking that all traffic will join and leave at the new junction is flawed as road users will not go back on themselves even if in theory the journey will be quicker on the A road. I know this because at present myself and family will always go through Hatfield Peveral to join the A 12 rather than back track to join it at the Boreham interchange, it is human nature. The proposal of reducing the speed limit to 30 through Boreham will have little effect as it will at best slow down traffic and not decrease it. The resulting air pollution, noise and danger of more accidents will all affect the local residents in a very adverse way.
