I live in Boreham. The increased amount of traffic coming through our village, due to the slip road closure, will be enormous. We have been given some idea of this whilst work has been ongoing at the Boreham Interchange. When there are problems on the A12, as it is now, traffic congestion along Main Road is dreadful. At these times, during rush hour, it is incredibly difficult to get out of Plantation Road and Church Road meaning phone calls are needed to explain lateness to colleagues. Closing the slip road onto the A12 from Hatfield Peveral will cause this level of inconvenience for Boreham residents every day. Main Road was the original A12, built when there was much less traffic. The existing A12 was built to take increased traffic away from Boreham. The planned slip road closure will take us back to those days, but even worse, considering the increased traffic flow yet again. The noise level and pollution will be unbearable too.
