In no specific order of priority: I disagree with the contention that traffic volumes and air quality in Maldon Road will be no worse that at present. This flies in the face of logic given: - the huge expansion of housing (including, but not limited to, 1000 properties at Westcombe Park) and commercial property in Maldon District - the inevitable housing development at Bovingtons Farm, Hatfield Peverel with access onto Maldon Road. There remains no assurance that traffic calming measures will be introduced in The Street/Maldon Road/Church Road/New Road to prevent traffic using these roads as a short cut to Boreham/Chelmsford avoiding the Duke of Wellington junction and the signposted route via J21 and A12 south. There is no clear evidence to support the contention that air quality throughout Hatfield Peverel will not deteriorate further (let alone improve) There remain serious concerns about traffic flows and routes during the replacement of Station Road bridge and the total inadequacy of the proposed diversion in terms of its use by heavy vehicles. There remain serious concerns about the perceived lack of unity in approach between National Highways and Essex County Council to the desperate need for a link road from J21 to a point south of Hatfield Peverel on the B1019, other than the concession to include a spur off J21 to facilitate such road in due course. Overall, there is a lack of recognition of the actual and potential traffic volumes in Hatfield Peverel which can only be experienced by living here.
