NHS Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board (MSE ICB) are the commissioners of health services in the area affected by this proposed project. It is expected that the project may impact the provision and capacity healthcare services. MSE ICB is working with NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board in responding to this proposed project. Input from Public Health colleagues at Essex County Council may also be appropriate. It is understood that the East of England Ambulance Service Trust is working with the Fire and Police services in relation to transport and access matters as those organisations have shared points of interest. The other main area of concern for the ICB is the potential impact on healthcare services of any temporary workforce employed for the construction of the project. It is important for the ICB to understand the size of the workforce, the duration of its stay in the area, the arrangements for housing this workforce and the health and wellbeing provision that will be made on-site and how impacts will me mitigated. It is not currently clear that this issue has been adequately addressed in the A12 Chelmsford to A120 widening scheme environmental statement chapter 13 Population and Human Health. The ICB may therefore need to contribute to the examination.
