Manston Airport is a local and National Asset. Once it is lost it will be impossible to replace. The Airport is vital to the expansion of commercial activity and the future prosperity of the East Kent area. International trade will inevitably increase and the geographical location is ideal to fascilitate this. The airport has the capacity to provide local jobs in an area of deprivation not only currently but for future residents. Such employment will provide opportunities for our young people and the trade created will attract further jobs and increased investment into a ‘forgotten’ area of the country. Manston is ideally placed to relieve pressure on both Heathrow and Gatwick Airports and the land available would provide a vast increase in both freight and passenger services.! For all the above reasons I believe that it is vital that Manston Airport is retained as a working airport and as a local and national asset.
