I would like to say that I am not in favour of Manston reopening as an airport. It has been proven over the last 20 years that there's no real demand for this airport as no airlines ever stayed in much longer than a year. I've lived in Herne Bay a 26 years it is now much quieter and more peaceful since the airport has gone.

We live in Kent which is the gateway to Europe, we have the port of Dover and Eurotunnel. Do we need to keep bringing more freight into the County, the M20 becomes a car park for several weeks of the year every time there is bad weather or major disruption at the ferry ports and Eurotunnel. There are plenty of major airports just outside the county around London. Thanet is an extremity, draw a circle around Manston Airport and you will find most of your circle will be in the North Sea.

An airport should be in the centre not at the extremities and for this reason I believe we should not be reopening Manston Airport.
