Thanet, with its Manston Airport, is in an excellent position to provide a Cargo Hub, with ancillary passenger facility, for the area considering its close proximity to the continent with road, rail and sea links to enhance the position. The number of employment opportunities that would become available would benefit the area tremendously. Perishable freight would reach the London distribution centres much more quickly and the hub would relieve the pressure on both Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
