I like many other locals do not want housing and Business development on the former airport. Many local people are unlikely to afford it, if it were ever built as the current owners have only managed to let out half of the former Pfizer pharmaceuticals site they also own in Sandwich. I would like the site to be returned to aviation, and we have flown aboard with KLM, which was a far less stressful, efficient and very cost-effective journey instead of the stress and unpredictability of trying to get to Heathrow or Gatwick, which the additional costs of staying in a hotel before travelling, and potentially being delayed again for hours. Flying from Manston was fast, stress free and the airport parking was very reasonable, and its only six minutes from our home. Manston needs top be an airport not a massive unwanted housing development, which the local infrastructure cannot support.
