I feel that the Manston airport site should re-open as an airport. Thanet people already have trouble job hunting as we can only look in a few directions for work, a lot of the country has a 360 degree radius but we are surrounded by sea which gives us less area for people to look for work. If Manston was turned into a giant residential area, where will all these people work? Building these houses will bring short term jobs but what happens afterwards? I feel that an airport would bring jobs to this area and significant jobs through out the country with warehousing, freight etc. It will take some of the strain off the London airports to. Modern aircraft are quieter now, so I don't feel the noise from the airport will be a problem. I also worry about where will all the extra drinking water come from if we have all these extra houses and families? Where will they go if they need doctors, hospital appointments and schools? As residents it's hard to get to see a doctor and to use the A&E department involves long waits in crowded waiting rooms.
