I would like to express an interest in the success of the DCO application made by RiverOak Strategic Partners Ltd.
Having lived in Ramsgate for over 30 years and having been a regular user of the Airport facilities at Manston, both as private pilot and as a commercial passenger the value of Manston to the local, regional and national economy is obvious to me.
East Kent and Thanet in particular contains some very deprived areas and still has one of the highest unemployment rates in Kent. Thanet is in need of a substantial economic boost that would provide sustained economic benefits.
Manston stands as a vital national asset, with one of the longest runways in the UK capable of receiving the largest and most modern aircraft. Being familiar with the RiverOak proposal, it offers the greatest opportunity for prolonged and sustainable economic growth to the local and regional area and with the vital importance of international trade post BEXIT, the proposal in my opinion, is the best future for Manston, the best use of this national asset and is in the best interest of the nation as a whole.
