  1. The U.K. is in need of more airport space, particularly for freight, especially with brexit looming.
  2. Thanet is one of the most deprived areas in the U.K. very little work and what is available, is poorly paid. Thousands more houses planned via local plan with no work for incoming residents. Manston airport will provide direct and indirect work for the local people and for specialist airport workers.
  3. It would be a major problem with infrastructure, water, sewage, conservation and heritage for Manston airport to be become a housing estate.
  4. Having lived in Thanet for over 50 years, and under the flight path for many of those years, I can categorically state that even with the older more noisy planes..now banned...there has never been a local problem. Newcomers to Thanet have not lived here when it was a thriving airport and this is worrying for them, but the benefits of having a thriving airport with the prospects of work and prosperity for the region and for the U.K, far outweigh any negative aspects.
  5. In every poll done in the past 4 years, there has been a constant result of 85%-90% in favour of the airport being re-opened.
