I have always been surprised that Manston was closed down as an airport. We are always hearing and reading of the lack of runways and the need for expansion to existing airports. Manson has the benefit of one of the longest runways in the country which post Brexit will be an asset to the country. With trading probably increasing outside of the EU Manston could alleviate the commercial strain on other airports around the country.There is a huge amount of planned housing in the south east and in the future with better road links Manston could become the airport of choice for the millions who will want to travel overseas. It would also be an alternative airport for visitors to our country. Needless to say the benefit of employment which would surely rise as time goes on should be carefully looked at.
